Pirates are a huge problem. It takes a lot of time to send letters out to take them down. Getting an ebook without paying for it (unless won in a contest or from the author of the book) is illegal. You are cheating an author of hard earned monies. It can be the difference of an author being able to continue to write or having to get an outside job.
