Happy Leap Day!!

I have expressed my astonishment at how my life has changed a few times before. I am sorry, but I have to say something again. One day in desperation I sat down and wrote a story about a big man who knew what he wanted. I paired him with a small spitfire of a man who was in trouble. Once I told the story I read the directions for submissions on Siren Publishing's webpage. I followed them and sent the story in.
I am not an English scholar. I am sentence structure and spellingly challenged. Modifiers are currently the bane of my existence. I wrote a story that I like to read. Something to get away from the world for awhile.
As you know, Bear's Pup was accepted and published. So the wild ride began. Praise and criticism followed. I learned what a blog was. I learned to intermingle with strangers on FaceBook. And I continued to write stories.
So, now a few years have passed. I have been blessed to see my name on bestseller lists. I have made wonderful friendships with readers and other authors. And I have been given opportunities that I never thought possible.
It is not a glamorous life. I write everyday. I write on vacations, weekends, and holidays. If I don't, the books won't come out in a halfway decent schedule. When life events happen, the books are delayed. A very popular author told me the other day that writing doesn't have any security. She's right. If you are looking for security in life, writing isn't it.
On the other hand, writing fits my personality. I'm a homebody. I don't need outside stimulation to ward off boredom. I'm never bored. My dreamworld is so fascinating. And I love hitting the send button to submit a book.
Okay, enough yammering. I will end this post of thoughts with some future hints. Let's see. I'm thinking Rescue for Hire West will be heading toward 10 books this year. Granite County will have a few more. There is a fire chief that needs a story and a cake maker from another story who was shot and whose arm was damaged in boiling oil that needs to find his one and only. I also see a new paranormal series that features a fairy who owns a bar. And if I decide to I will add one more book to the Luberia Mai series. I'm still deciding whether or not to write a 4th of July holiday story.
On a side note you may want to watch FaceBook and this blog tomorrow, March 1st. More secrets may be revealed.
So this is my leap year musings on how life can change when you least expect it. Be careful what you wish for, it may be more than you thought.
Have a wonderful day and big hugs to you all.

Bellann
