Today or tomorrow Cash's Jesse will be available for pre-sale at Siren Publishing. This is a special story that I wanted to tell for a while. For those who are part of my Facebook fan club, you are aware of the backstory to this book. For others, here it is:
I used to go to a neighboring town to get my hair styled. I actually graduated from high school in that town. To be honest I didn't much care for most of the people of that town. I did like my hairstylist. After 20 years we were pretty close. One day she told me the story of a little boy who used to cower under a pine tree in his front yard. In hot or cold weather, no one would stop and help him. Everyone knew his mother had partied in a city an hour away with a pro football player and became pregnant. Everyone knew the player paid her off. She lived with her mother and left the little boy with her while she worked. The grandmother and the town hated this boy. His skin color and illegitimacy were a huge embarrassment.
I wanted to tell this boy's story. Of course, I took liberties, but I was haunted by him and needed to
give him a happy ending. You see, in real life this boy, at eighteen, killed himself. In my story, he meets Cash. So, I gave Rescue for Hire, one more story. Jesse's Story, Cash's Jesse will also get part two of their love story in Rescue for Hire - Texas book 1. Cash's Jess (Rescue for Hire 11) will go on sale this week. I just needed you to know how special Jesse really was.
